DIY Natural Deodorant

I’ve been playing around with different essential oils in my homemade deodorant and I’m in love with this trio: geranium, melaleuca and lemongrass. It smells so clean and fresh!

Geranium reminds me of my grandmother who used to grow geranium flowers but it also reminds me of when I worked retail while I was going to college. We heard that geranium essential oil made people spend more money so naturally we went crazy diffusing it throughout the store.

It actually seemed to work! People were buying more merchandise however we got greedy and diffused too much and all got the worst headaches. We decided it wasn’t such a good idea after all.

I try not to think of that story when I smell my homemade deodorant.

You can order essential oils from my doTerra shop by going here.

I thought I would repost the recipe for those that haven’t seen it. It’s so easy to make your own deodorant. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked!

The more I learn about toxins the more I start to freak out.

To bring some zen into my life I’m learning how to make my own skin care and household products using natural ingredients and essential oils.

Here is one of my favorite new recipes for a natural deodorant that a dear friend gave me. It’s so easy to make and my discerning (a.k.a. SUPER PICKY) group of beautiful friends have tested it out in hot yoga, running and other sweaty endeavors.

All have raved and given two thumbs up.

Enjoy!

I encourage you to try Pit Paste! I use it and love it! I add Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil for there antibacterial and anti fungal properties. But most any therapeutic grade essential oil will work!! What are you waiting for — JUST DO IT!! :)
